Admission open for four years Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme, against vacant seats.

Eligibility :Unmarried female, Indian National/NRI/Foreign National, with minimum  age for admission, shall be 17 years or not more than 35 years and must have passed H.Sc. or Equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and  Biology. Candidates appeared for H.Sc. or Equivalent examination in March/April 2012 are also eligible. With minimum  45% aggregate marks (PCBE) in the first attempt for open category and 40% for reserved category. The Eligibility criteria  may vary in accordance with judicial   pronouncement and orders issued by appropriate authorities from  time to time, Admission to Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital College of Nursing will be through AMUPMDC, by Merit of Associate CET 2012 of Maharashtra. 25%  seats are reserved as  per government Rule. SC-2, ST -1, VJ- 1, NT1 - 1, NT2 -1, NT3-1, OBC –3. In case of non availability of reserved category and candidates in the NRI quota the seats will be filled on the basis of open merit.
Candidate should be physically & mentally fit for admission.

Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital has conducted a recognized General Nursing and Midwifery diploma programme in Nursing (General Nursing & Midwifery ) since 1951 over six decades.

In the year 2010 the institution has upgraded itself and we now offer female candidates a Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme. The programme has an annual intake capacity of 40 students. The graduates of the programme over the year have excelled in academics, co-curricular and extra curricular activities and clinical practice.

College of Nursing Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik and is duly recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Maharashtra Nursing Council (MNC).

We at College of Nursing, Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital believe in creating the ‘conducive’ atmosphere for holistic development, where the emphasis is on encouraging a student to grow at her own pace. The institute believes that for enabling this, the faculty should be aware of the latest development in learning styles. The institute also believes in developing life skills in its student for survival and interactions. The institute believes in making the student self sufficient and self reliant by facilitating growth in tune with each student’s ability.

• To prepare the student to keep pace with latest professional and technological developments and use these for providing nursing services.

• To update the faculty in relation to the latest development in teaching styles.

 

Admission Criteria

• The candidate should be an Indian

• The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st Dec. of the year of admission.

• Unmarried female.

• The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of Higher secondary school certificate Examination (12 years course). OR Senior School certificate Examination (10+2) /pre degree Examination (10+2)

• An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English) With minimum of 45% aggregate marks for open candidates & 40% aggregate marks for reserved candidates (PCBE) passing one at the same time.

• Candidate should be physically & mentally fit for admission.

• Entrance/Selection test. Selection of the candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination.

Admission Procedure
• Basic B.Sc. Nursing students are selected through CET conducted by AMUPMDC (Association of Managements of Unaided Private Medical & Dental Colleges) and the test examination is known as Associate CET. Head of Association is located at off Mezzanine floor, Shreeja House, 75 Mint Road, Fort Mumbai 400 001. The admission process controlled by the Director of Medical Education Govt. of Maharashtra Pravesh Niyantran Samiti. However management has the right to admit 15% of students which is usually on the basis of merit.
